Thank you for visiting Fun and Function! I am excited about your joining our community of parents and professionals. Our goal at Fun and Function is to help those who care for children of all abilities. We seek to provide emotional support, encouragement, professional insights, expert advice, opportunities to get involved in research, the latest research and incredible savings on educational and therapeutic toys and equipment.

I am a pediatric occupational therapist and the mother of 3 small children ages 6, 4, and 2. When my daughter was born in 2003, I noticed that her development was delayed and that she had a difficult time self-regulating. When she was 5 months, she began to receive early intervention services and I started looking for therapeutic products and emotional support! I found that the products available to assist kids with sensory processing disorders were expensive, and unattractive. I was frustrated trying to cope with her sensitivities to noise, touch, transitions, tastes and movement. I felt that there had to be a better option.

So my husband and I founded Fun and Function in 2005 to fill the gap. We really care about kids here. I love connecting with parents, therapists and teachers by sharing ideas and offering encouragement. I love hearing about the progress our kids make. In the interim, my daughter has been steadily improving thanks to her teacher, occupational and physical therapists and weighted vest!

Our Fun and Function blog is an especially exciting new development, as it will feature rotating contributors including speech therapists, occupational therapists, early childhood educators and parents. Stay tuned!

Best Regards,
