Our Chewy Categories

 

Our chewy test protocol is designed to group our chewies into three categories: for light chewers, for moderate chewers and for moderate plus chewers. 

 

Though no chewy is indestructible, these categories can be helpful when choosing a chewy. Make sure the chewy you choose is appropriate for your child’s development and needs. Please follow our safety recommendations for chewies. Chewies should always be used with adult supervision and chewies should be regularly inspected for signs of wear and tear. 

 

Light Chewies

The softer chewies with more ‘give’ are generally more suitable for lightThough no chewy is indestructible, our categories can be helpful when choosing a chewy. Make sure the chewy you choose is appropriate for your child’s development and needs. Please follow our safety recommendations for chewies. A light chewy can also be suitable for an older child who prefers softer chewies, as long as the older child’s chewing habits tend more to chewing than biting with maximum force and the child has enough cognitive awareness to avoid repetitive biting with maximum force. 

 

Moderate Chewies

It can be suitable for a child who prefers a harder chewy for increased proprioceptive input. It can also be suitable for an adult who prefers softer chewies, as long as the adult’s chewing habits tend more to chewing than biting with maximum force and the adult has enough cognitive awareness to avoid repetitive biting with maximum force. 

 

Moderate Plus Chewies

Make sure the chewy you choose is appropriate for your child’s development and needs. Please follow our safety recommendations for chewies. Chewies should always be used with adult supervision.  chewers. A moderate plus chewy can be suitable for an adult who regularly bites on chewies. It can also be suitable for a child who prefers a harder chewy for increased proprioceptive input.
