Putty Resistance Levels
Putty is a versatile therapy tool designed to help kids strengthen their hands, develop fine motor skills and exercise their finger muscles. Putty is additionally beneficial in keeping fidgety fingers busy and providing sensory input that can help calm and focus.
Our putties are categorized into four levels of resistance: X-Soft, Soft, Medium and Firm. The choice of resistance level depends on your child’s specific needs, goals, and current hand strength. Different resistance levels also allow for varied activities.
Before selecting a putty for your child, read through the guidelines below.
Our X-Soft putty offers minimal resistance. Extremely pliable and squishy, it allows kids with limited hand strength to practice manipulating the putty while getting used to its feel and texture.
Our Soft putties are slightly firmer, offering a gentle increase in resistance. Designed for children with minimal hand strength, Soft putties work the hand muscles without requiring much effort.
The Medium putty strikes the perfect balance between flexibility and resistance. Designed for individuals with average hand strength, it allows for effective exercises without being too challenging.
Step up your hand strength training with our Firm putty. Offering the highest resistance level, Firm putties are suitable for individuals with developed hand strength seeking an additional challenge.
As your child’s hand strength and motor skills develop, you can gradually progress to firmer putties. Note that as your child manipulates the putty in their hands and warms it up, it will become softer and more pliable.
