Sheva Abenson, BS (Hons) Open

Sensory Room Design

Sheva has helped make customers' dreams a reality on over 300 sensory room projects. With a strong eye for detail, a love for design and a keen understanding of children's sensory needs, she makes an incredible manager for the talented Sensory Room Design Team at Fun and Function. A mother with a delightful British accent, Sheva is full of creative ideas for how to best utilize your sensory space to help kids thrive.

Malkie Ward, OTR/L

Product Development

Malkie uses her clinical experience to guide the development of new products that are practical and fun for children of all ages and all abilities. She creates activity guides and sensory kits to make sensory regulation accessible and user-friendly for parents, therapists and children alike. She believes in empowering children by giving them the tools and strategies to identify and seek out their own sensory needs. Malkie received her degree from Kean University and is also a school-based clinician, specializing in the preschool-age population.

Rachel Nusbaum, BA Psy

Sensory Room Design

Rachel Nusbaum, BA Psy has a deep understanding of people and loves working with parents, teachers, therapists, and other professionals to design safe and inclusive sensory spaces. She has the unique distinction of being the designer who created the first Fun and Function outdoor sensory space. When this red-headed first-time mom is not busy designing her clients' dream sensory rooms, she can be found painting, party-planning for friends, or spending time with family.

Leah Kaufman

Sensory Room Design

Leah Kaufman worked in the Special Education Department in a local elementary school before pivoting five years ago to join the Sensory Room Design Team at Fun and Function. She has seen firsthand that creating safe, functional and aesthetically beautiful sensory spaces can help children with developmental disabilities or sensory impairments to self regulate and interact with the world around them. Born and bred in London, Leah loves spending time outdoors with her three adorable girls, taking walks and visiting local parks.

Aviva Krankowitz

Sensory Room Design

Aviva Krankowitz is an industrial design major who is an expert at strategic problem-solving to find a happy balance between function, aesthetics, and budget limitations. With a keen understanding of user needs, Aviva has helped dozens of happy clients create perfect sensory spaces for their students and homes. A native of Toronto, Aviva loves taking walks outdoors and listening to music in her spare time.
