Love using these mats to work on bilateral coordination, a skill that is so difficult for many preschool kids. Rolling out the putty into long strips and placing onto the letters on these mats also works on letter and number recognition. Perfect for the therapist working with the 3-5 population -Adina Steinberg, MS, OTR/L at Fun and Function

Awesome Alphabet Handwriting ProductI found the ABC-123 Magnet Mat set to be very helpful with preschool and lower elementary school aged children. When I placed the mats in front of the children, they immediately started tracing the letters! The children needed cuing to ensure they were tracing the letters in the correct stroke sequence. The contrast of the yellow letters on the white background made it easier to see for the children with visual processing difficulties. Also, I figured out that you can vary the level of tracing resistance by using one mat or stacking a few together to work on grip strengthening. The shape of the grip helps to promote a mature pencil grasp. I use a variety of handwriting programs and this would complement any program used in the school system. Overall, the mats are very versatile; they can be used to work on grip strength, promoting mature hand grasps, handwriting, visual perception, and hand-eye coordination.Read MoreAwesome review of ABCsI love that we have a hands-on way to practice ABCs and build hand strength simultaneously with putty!!
